In recognition of the longstanding commitment for Nepalhilfe Kirtipur, the Federal President awarded Mr. Wilfried Gerfen the 'Order of Merit on the Ribbon' of the Federal Republic of Germany on February 25th, 2021.

In recognition of the commitment to the implementation of an international educational project financed by Rotary clubs in the Darmstadt region, "Establishment of a multiple campus for business administration and science courses at the Jana Sewa Higher Secondary School in Kirtipur" (Janadhar Community Campus), the chairman of Nepalhilfe Kirtipur e.V., Wilfried Gerfen, although not a Rotarian himself, was named an honorary "Paul Harris Fellow" of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. |

In 2012 the chairman of Nepalhilfe Kirtipur was nominated for the "German Engagement Award" of the 'Alliance for Charitable Benefit', an association of large umbrella organizations and independent organizations in the non-profit sector (so-called 'Third Sector'). The sponsor was, among others, the German Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth.
